I can't believe that it is November already! Thank you to all the families that donated to our class party after the parade last Friday.
In math this week we continued to work with place value, focusing on skip counting by tens and hundreds with three digit number. The place where students tend to get tricked is skip counting by tens when you have to move to the next hundred. For example 285, 295, 305, 315. They will write 205 or 2105 instead of 305. We are practicing counting combinations of dimes and pennies - something that can be practiced at home.
Reading and writing both continue to be focused on nonfiction. Today students read nonfiction books and found text features that they tried to incorporate in their own writing. The pictures below show some sample of student work.
